Setting a line 100 feet up by hand-throwing is an athletic feat on a good day and a lost afternoon on a bad one.
The Jameson Big Shot (BS-1) ends the guesswork: a heavy-duty slingshot head that snaps into a Jameson pole's ferrule, turning the pole into a launcher that delivers a throw bag and line up to 150 feet over limbs — accurately, repeatably, and on the first or second attempt instead of the fifteenth.
It's the standard opening move in professional tree work and a quiet favorite of line crews.
Arborists use it to set climbing and rigging lines in the canopy; utility and telecom crews use it to get a pull line over limbs, through tree gaps, and across obstacles a bucket can't reach. Draw the pouch, aim the pole, release — the pole-mounted launch geometry produces a far more consistent trajectory than any hand throw.
Set it up the way Jameson specifies.
This is the launcher head only; pair it with Jameson FG or JE series poles — two 4-foot poles, or one 4-foot and one 6-foot — always starting with a Base Pole. Important: the Big Shot is not for use with telescoping poles. Add a throw bag and throw line to complete the kit, or grab our FG-BS-KIT1 listing to get the head with both 4' FG poles in one box. A replacement sling and pouch is available when years of launches finally wear the rubber.
