Cable Prep SCPT-6591 Super CPT Coax Stripping Tool - RG-6/59 & RG-7/11 Cartridges, Insertion Sockets

Cable Prep's Super CPT tool is ideal for anyone working with RG6/59 or RG7/11 cables. The tool is designed to remove the cable jacket, cut the braid and dielectric, and expose the center conductor on large and small diameter braided and braid replacement cables, all in one smooth operation. Plus, the insertion feature provides the leverage needed to push connectors onto cables, even bulky quad-shield cables!

The SCPT-6591 ships with a 6/59 and a 7/11 cartridge installed in its two slots, so one tool handles standard (single) through quad shielded RG-6, -59, -7 and -11 drop cables without cartridge changes.

Features:
  • Insertion feature provides leverage to push the connector onto the cable - no separate insertion tool
  • Insertion sockets (6/59 and 7/11) support all RG-6, -59, -7, and -11 connectors
  • A wide body to support large cables
  • Two slots for different sized cartridges
  • An ergonomic, efficient design - comfortable to hold and easy to operate with either hand
  • Factory calibrated strip back dimensions
  • Quick-release mechanism
  • Hardened tool-steel blades; each cartridge prepares 2,500 - 5,000 cables, depending on braid coverage
  • Patented clean-out feature
  • Color-coded replaceable cartridges snap into place

  • Includes:
  • 1 x 6/59 cartridge, black (RBC-6590) - slot B

    5 of 5 Looking At the Cable Prep 6/59 & 7/11. Wednesday, May 19, 2021
Reviewer: Paul Chudigian from Arlington, MA United States
The Cable Prep Super CPT Tool 6/59 & 7/11 works with RG 6, 59, 7 & 11 cables (dual, tri & quad shield).

The tool comes with two sets of blades (RG6/59 & 7/11)

The tool is large in size, but not much more so than similar tools. The plastic body is colored blue & yellow with yellow lettering (as seen in the provided picture).

To operate the tool, first make sure that the correct blades are installed in the tool. Change the blades as needed. To date, I have only worked with RG6 cable, so I have not had the need to switch the blades.

Next, squeeze the top & bottom sections to open the jaws, insert the coaxial cable into the proper slot while making sure to that the end of the cable stops flush with the edge of the tool), spin the tool clockwise until the sound of the braiding being cut stops, squeeze the tool's jaws together and pull it off of the cable.

The cable can now be prepped for the installation of a connector.

Looking forward to continued use of this tool.
