4 of 5 Nifty idea July 20, 2021

So many times I've punched a hole through a wall above a dropped ceiling and couldn't get the cable into the hole on the far side without attaching a 6' fish pole.  These are just the thing.  But, you still have to tape the cable to the rod, which may require a larger hole.  I may try combining this with a Fish Tailz Wire Pulling Sock by threading the back end of the rod and tapping the bullnose on the sock.

5 of 5 As expected April 16, 2021

We order these for techs commonly pulling coax through entry holes or from room to room. They love them. They hold up well and seem to be made of high quality material. Works as expected. You can definitely do the work without this tool but it's a nice little aid.

5 of 5 Helpful tool August 20, 2019
Reviewer: DJK from Alva, OK United States
Wish I had this sooner, handy for getting through insulation or if your hole isn't straight.  Solid metal rod beats trying to use a piece of ground wire. I ordered a 12" to try, will definitely order the other sizes next.

I am a cable tech and I got really tired of sweating and struggling to push a wet noodle cable through multiple layers of wall/floor. Throw insulation in there or more than a 6 inch cavity and you can forget it. Sure you can strip the jacket and shield and wrap it around a drill bit or ground wire but it never works right because tape adds girth and it's slow.

This tool changed the way I look at replacing and running cable. I can cut the old cable, push it through the existing hole, and push the new cable through with this tool in about 30 seconds. Compare that to several minutes and a trip back inside the house before.

The 12in length I keep in my tool bag. I also have the 24in and it has it's uses like being easier to bend but it stays in my van until a situation calls for it. I haven't had the need for longer yet, though they have a 36in.

We might be ordering these in bulk pretty soon after I showed my supervisor. So yeah, it's well worth picking at least one of these up.

5 of 5 Extremely Useful product February 1, 2018
Reviewer: Bud C from Port Clinton , OH United States
If you have ever tried to fish a flexible cable through a wall with several layers, you know how frustrating it can be.  Even using a rod and taping the cable on is not the best because taping along side the rod increases the diameter and therefore requires a larger hole than necessary for the cable. This little tool allows you to "thread" the tool into the end of the cable, and pull it through with ease.  No more trying to straighten the cable so it hits all the holes going through.  Whoever came up with this is a lifesaver AND a time saver for wiring professionals.
