Holland's HPF-54HR high pass filter attenuates ingressive noise in the sub-band section of the cable spectrum to optimize return path services. This filter can also be used to eliminate or restrict user access to the sub-band return frequencies.

These filters are a compact inexpensive solution to the age old problem of sub-band noise. We recently used over 300 of them to block noise created by poorly designed power supplies in a certain TV set model. The noise had crippled normal communication on our cable plant. Once the filters were in place communication returned to normal.
