Do you know what is better than a really bright flashlight? A really bright flashlight that is born of high pressure molten aluminum. The die-cast EC4S is lighter weight and offers two times the structural integrity of most machined aluminum flashlights. Additionally, the EC4S's die-cast body has a low thermal resistance so the flashlight stays up to 30% cooler.
Did we mention bright? The EC4S uses the cutting edge CREE XHP50 XLAMP LED, powered by two 18650 batteries, to produce a blinding 2150 lumens! Who would have thought something that comfortably fits in one hand could have an output that is almost twice that of a standard car headlight!
Die-Cast Aluminum: High pressure molten aluminum is injected into a mold cavity resulting in one solid piece; no separate parts, welds or joints. In comparison to a standard 3 piece aluminum flashlight, the EC4S is 200% stronger. Die-cast aluminum technology has been used in luxury cars, aerospace, and other industries where strength plays an important role in the design. Nitecore is one of the first companies to bring this awesome technology into the flashlight industry.
Ergonomic Grip: Nitecore's EC4S uses a clever design that puts the two 18650 batteries side by side. This allows for a more compact flashlight, as well an ergonomic grip that fits the natural shape of a closed hand. The flashlight uses a dimpled grip making it even more comfortable during extended use.
Battery Voltage Read: After battery installation or lockout mode activation, the back-lit power/mode buttons will flash to indicate the voltage left in the battery. Never be caught with a low battery again!
Two Lockout Modes: The EC4S offers two ways to lockout the flashlight from accidental activation. First the traditional loosening of the tail cap. Secondly, by holding both buttons for over a second will disable the switch from turning on the flashlight.
Dual Switch Interface: Most flashlights on the market today use one button to do everything. This can get a bit complicated. Nitecore's Dual Switch Offers one button for mode and one button for power. When powered off, these buttons can also be used to access immediate Turbo Mode and immediate Ultra Low Mode.
Standby Mode Indicator: While this is a small feature, it is a pretty awesome one. The Nitecore EC4S has blue back-lit buttons that can be set to flash every three seconds while the flashlight is off. If you are in a situation where you lost power, or it is dark and you can't find your flashlight, the blue LED flash will let you quickly find your flashlight. This feature uses very little power and can run for 6 months with standby activated.

Three Special Modes: Nitecore's EC4S offers three special modes: Strobe, SOS, and Location Beacon. Strobe Mode rapidly flashes a bright white light and is commonly used for self defense. SOS is used as a distress signal in the case of an emergency. Lastly, Location Beacon offers an ultra efficient way to signal your location with a pulsed flash of light.
