Jonard's V-Groove Cleaning Brush (VGB-100) is designed to clean built-up acrylate coating, dust, and debris from fusion splicers; this double-ended brush is the perfect tool to clean and maintain fusion splicers. Deposits left in the V-grooves and on the fiber clamps cause fiber offset, alignment errors, and higher splice loss, so a quick cleaning at the start of the day keeps the splicer performing like new.

Tip: for a stubborn deposit stuck in a V-groove, drag a freshly stripped and cleaved piece of bare fiber through the groove. The glass is as hard as the silica debris, so it dislodges the deposit without scratching the groove the way metal can.
