The Ripley Cablematic 31420 (blade model CB 116K) is the OEM replacement coring bit for the CST625 coring and stripping tool, designed for .625" HFC trunk and distribution coaxial cable. The CST625 uses a heat-treated, spiral-fluted steel coring bit to remove the foam dielectric and core the cable in a single pass — when that bit dulls with use in the field, the 31420 restores full performance without replacing the entire tool. This part is the right choice for linemen, cable splicers, and telecom technicians who depend on the CST625 as a daily driver.

The 31420 coring bit fits both the standard CST625 (T-handle with built-in 3/8" drill adapter) and the CST625-R ratchet version — all color-coded blue to identify them as .625" cable tools. Compatible cables include CommScope P1 Cable Guard, CommScope P3, Times Fiber T4/T6/T10, Alcatel ACE/ACW, and general .625" coaxial trunk and distribution cable. Note that the 31420 (CB 116K) is the coring bit only — it is a distinct part from the CST625 sheath-cutting blade (CB 60, part 14907), which is sold separately. Technicians working with the smaller CST500 tool should use the CB 115K coring blade (part 31320) instead, as blade models are specific to cable size. After coring, a center conductor cleaner such as the CC-100 or CC-200 can be used to remove any residual dielectric from the conductor.
