The Petzl EXO AP HOOK is a personal escape system built for the worst-case scenario: bailing out of a structure where a solid anchor point is not guaranteed. The multi-purpose anchor hook works two ways - fixed around a structure with a locking hitch, or set on a window sill as a last resort - so the escape starts even when the room offers nothing to tie to.

The self-braking descender includes an anti-panic function: move horizontally fast, climb out the window, and control the descent, and if the user pulls too hard on the handle, the anti-panic function brakes and stops the descent automatically, limiting the force transmitted in a fall. The 15m x 7.5mm aramid static rope resists abrasion and high temperatures, the Am'D connector carries a CAPTIV positioning bar to keep it correctly oriented and integrated with the device, and the fire-resistant bag attaches the whole system directly to the harness.
