Jonard AST-210 CableSaber+™ Mid-Span Slit, Ring & Spiral Tool - 4 mm to 30 mm Armored Cable

High-fiber-count cable changed the mid-span access game: when the jacket you're opening contains 1,728 fibers of someone's backbone, the slitting tool is not the place to economize. The Jonard AST-210 CableSaber+ is purpose-built for exactly this work - gaining mid-span access to armored and thick-jacketed cables from 4 mm to 30 mm (0.157" to 1.181") in diameter, and specifically designed for Corning Optical's 144F through 1728F RocketRibbon extreme-density cables. It's the evolution of Jonard's AST-200, upgraded with a deeper-cutting blade for exactly these extra-thick jackets, and it adds spiral cuts to slitting and ringing.

Control is the whole design. Blade depth adjusts precisely up to 6.5 mm (0.256") via thumb screw - by hand, no tools - so the MIM-4680 nickel-molybdenum steel blade cuts through the toughest jacket and armor materials while stopping short of the fibers beneath. The blade sets longitudinal for slitting runs or radial for ring cuts, covering both halves of a mid-span entry with one tool. And the aluminum shaft - the CableSaber's signature - provides tremendous stability that prevents the spiraling drift that ruins long access cuts, while the shaft housing doubles as a leverage handle.

Rugged anodized aluminum and steel construction - and when the blade finally dulls, the AST-210RB replacement blade 2-pack keeps it cutting. For crews splicing high-count ribbon in data center interconnect, backbone, and OSP work, the CableSaber+ is cheap insurance on cables where a single errant blade pass has five-figure consequences.
