The MDI WindMaster 4814M-DLK is built around a dual-spring base with strong initial tension that resists the twisting and turning that wind gusts and passing truck wash inflict on single-spring stands — the sign face snaps back to vertical instead of spinning out of the driver's view.

Deployment speed is the other half of the design.
The Drop & Lock upright has a molded cap that channels the MDI sign crossbrace into position, and a spring-loaded pin locks the sign in place automatically — drop it in, hear the click, done. The stand stores as one unit with an MDI Compact sign, folding to roughly one cubic foot, so crews deploy and strike signs in seconds instead of wrestling brackets on the shoulder. Kick-release buttons collapse the legs just as fast at the end of the shift.

The telescoping aircraft-aluminum legs adjust independently for stable setups on curbs, slopes, and uneven terrain, with rubber caps for traction on pavement.
The steel base and springs are specially coated and salt-spray tested for corrosion resistance through years of road-season duty. Accommodates 36" and 48" MDI Compact signs (also compatible with MDI DuraLatch and 3-pocket roll-up signs; not for 4-pocket signs). Backed by a full 4-year warranty.
