The Ripley Tools PIT-1T (Part #35150) is a purpose-built probe insertion tool for quickly and correctly seating a load break probe into small-interface 15 to 34.5 kV elbows. It applies the precise 125 in-lb torque needed for a proper connection without over-tightening, reducing the risk of probe breakage, contamination, and cross-threading — common failure points when probes are installed with non-dedicated tools or by hand.

The PIT-1T is equipped with four interchangeable drive systems in one compact tool body: an adjustable T-bar handle that converts to a moment arm for use in tight spaces, a 3/8 in. (9.5 mm) square socket drive, a 1 in. (25.4 mm) hexagon for wrench engagement, and a 13/16 in. (20.64 mm) penta-socket. This versatility lets crews insert and remove load break probes across virtually all elbow configurations without carrying multiple tools. Probe removal is accomplished simply by reversing the tightening direction.
