I have always used a drywall saw to cut in low voltage rings and remodel electrical boxes. The QBit is faster at cutting the hole. I don't trace all 4 sides of the new box location; I now just draw 2 lines, top and 1 side and line the saw up with those two. It has always cut through 5/8 fire rated drywall. Now the only 2 negatives: 1. I need to carry another tool with me. I think if I was just cutting in 1 hole, I will still leave it in the truck and use the drywall hand saw assuming I wasn't bringing other power tools in. 2. When I used to use the drywall say, if i ran into an obstruction (conduit, recessed offset stud, etc) I would just make that the new edge of the box opening and cut back the other way to get the size I need. Unfortunately, you don't "feel" obstructions behind the drywall with this blade because it cuts so shallow. So when you remove the tool and see conduit behind there, now you have to patch it or blank it over and cut another hole nearby.
