Pass-through RJ45 plugs won the field for one reason: you can see every conductor in order before you crimp — but they've always carried one asterisk.
The trimmed wire ends left exposed at the plug face can short in non-compliant device sockets. The Simply45 ProSeries S45-1700P closes that gap with the patented Cap45 (US Patent 10,811,831 B1): an isolation cap that snaps onto the front of the plug after termination, covering the exposed wire ends completely and eliminating the electrical risk — which matters doubly on PoE and PoH runs, exactly where these plugs are rated to live.

Underneath the Cap45 is a spec sheet most pass-throughs can't match.
Every pin is a 3-prong design — three points of contact per conductor instead of the two-prong found on most pass-through plugs — with a true 50µ of 24ct gold plating for signal integrity, stronger conductor grip, and less heat build-up. The single-piece plug needs no load bar, and its high/low staggered wire insert plus deeper cable insertion shortens the untwisted length for better NEXT performance. It supports ANSI/TIA 568.2-D for Cat6 and Cat6a, ISO/IEC 11801 Class E/Ea, and 10GBASE-T over UTP.

The "P" means it's sized for the big stuff.
It accommodates 23 AWG solid conductors from 1.05-1.2 mm (0.041"-0.047") and cable ODs up to 7.4 mm (0.291") — the larger jackets found on Cat6 and Cat6a UTP.
