The Cable Prep SCT-500 turns hardline connectorization from a sequence of steps into a single motion: it strips back and bevels the outer conductor and cores the dielectric on .500 PIII and T10 cable in one smooth operation.
The stripping action removes the aluminum sheath without scoring it — and the patented one-piece blade leaves a beveled outer conductor edge that eliminates O-ring damage, minimizing the water migration that kills connectors from the inside.
That one-piece blade is the heart of the tool.
Because the coring and stripping edges are machined into a single piece of high-alloy tool steel heat-treated to full hardness, they're perfectly aligned by definition and stay that way — the beveled edges remain sharp over a long life, and replacement blade kits keep the tool in service indefinitely. The lightweight body uses diagonal I-beam struts for maximum strength from minimum material, and the plastic housing carries a lifetime warranty.
Run it by hand, or pull the handle and chuck it in a 3/8" variable-speed drill for production pace.
Threads molded into the body accept Cable Prep's JCS jacket stripper for all-in-one jacket-strip-bevel-core functionality, and the yellow color coding matches Cable Prep's .500 PIII/T10 sleeve system so the right tool comes out of the bucket the first time. Finish the prep with Cable Prep's Gator to bevel and clean the center conductor, and the cable is connector-ready.
