The FOC-200 brings Cable Prep's higher standard of tool-making to the most repeated task in fiber work: stripping.
Three precision-tooled cutting notches cover the full prep sequence — the first strips 1.6-3 mm fiber jacket down to the 600-900 micron buffer tube, the second takes buffer down to the 250 micron coating, and the third removes the coating to clean 125 micron glass, ready to cleave. Each notch can remove more than an inch of material in a single pass, and a stripping guide printed on the handle keeps hole selection instant.
The engineering under the pivot is why it stays accurate after thousands of cuts.
A unique self-lubricating bolt — a mineral-oil impregnated nylon bushing — keeps the jaw movement smooth and the notch alignment true for the long haul. The positive-action wire spring opens the grips fully wide and closes with light, steady resistance for a "just right" hand feel, and the easy-reach lock engages and releases without changing hand position or using two hands.
It works on all varieties of fiber optic cable, including both loose tube and bonded fibers.
Soft-touch cushioned grips, compact pocketable size, and no glass-scoring — the failure that turns into broken fibers at the splice point later. At this price, it's an easy tool to standardize across a crew.
