First, the HRV S Series uses diode-steered circuitry on the ports, which prevents DC back-feeding between receivers — one receiver's LNB power can't flow backwards into another, eliminating a classic source of multi-receiver headaches. Second, the vertical case orientation points all F-ports in one direction, making clean terminations possible in shallow structured-wiring cans, demarc boxes, and other confined spaces where a horizontal splitter body won't let you get a wrench on the fittings.
