The GMP 10553 is the heavy-duty three-sheave cable block for aerial placement: it supports up to three cables simultaneously on the suspension strand, keeping them separated and rolling freely until the lasher comes through.
Each sheave accepts cable up to 2-1/2" (63 mm) diameter, which makes the 10553 the standard block for triplexing in the electrical industry — lashing up to three 750 MCM cables together to a supporting strand — as well as multi-cable communications placements.

The frame and sheaves are heat-treated aluminum alloy — strong enough for three loaded cables, light enough to hang and strip by the dozen. Oilite bearings on the sheaves keep the cables pulling smoothly with minimal friction, and steel inserts on the strand hooks let the block itself slide along the strand easily during placement.

The feature crews appreciate most is the bi-directional lever-operated cam: it locks the block in place on the strand during pull-in, then automatically releases as the lasher advances — no one riding the strand to free blocks by hand.
