Klein's semi-floating body belt combines an OPE positioning belt with a specialized lineman's tool belt in one piece of equipment. It meets or exceeds all OSHA regulations for positioning device systems in power utilities (OSHA 1926.959) and telecommunications (OSHA 1910.268 and 1910.269), plus ASTM F887, CSA Z259.1, and CSA Z259.11. Each belt carries a permanent tag identifying model number, serial number, size, and date of manufacture.
The load-bearing straps are Klein's exclusive Klein-Kord: six-ply, 1-3/4" wide filament nylon that is neoprene-impregnated, folded, and vulcanized. It is abrasion-resistant, non-conductive, virtually stretch-free, and essentially unaffected by creosote and other pole-treatment chemicals or temperatures up to 250°F (121°C). The center plies are red at the core - when red shows through, the strap has reached its wear limit and gets replaced immediately, an "early warning" safety feature unique to Klein.
