The Ripley Tools US10-7000 UtilityTool is a purpose-built insulation chamfering tool designed for cable jointers who need fast, repeatable, and safe cable end preparation on medium-voltage URD cable. The US10 utilizes a size adjustment clamping system to quickly and easily adjust and lock onto the insulation, eliminating the guesswork and inconsistency of hand-knife chamfering. Its compact, low friction, thermoplastic V-jaw construction and PTFE-coated aluminum frame provides a stable and precise clamping platform in any space, making it ideal for tight enclosures, splice boxes, and manholes.

Built for 15-35 kV medium-voltage applications, the tool easily adjusts to suit XLPE & EPR insulation materials on cable diameters from 0.5in to 2.36in (12.7 mm to 60 mm). The 30-degree angle bevel model performs with a factory-set chamfer depth of 0.075in (1.905 mm), adjustable from 0in to 0.150in (0 mm to 3.81 mm). This adjustability allows crews to dial in the exact bevel depth required for a clean, consistent transition into stress cones, terminations, and splice bodies without over-cutting into conductor strands.

Safety and durability were central to the US10's design. The tool is equipped with a safe, recessed blade to prevent potential injury and blade damage, and it features a replaceable, machined & ground tool steel blade that can be swapped out in the field to maintain cutting performance.
