The Jonard TK-283 is a compact strip-and-clean kit for prepping fiber for a fusion splice or a mechanical connector.
It covers the three steps between opening the cable and cleaving the glass: strip the jacket and buffer, cut the strength members, and clean the bare fiber.

Most bad cleaves and high-loss splices trace back to that last step.
Coating residue and skin oil on the glass throw off the cleave angle and keep the fiber from seating in the splicer's V-groove. Quick-drying cleaning fluid and lint-free wipes make sure the fiber goes into the cleaver clean every time.
