A shielded RJ45 termination is only shielded if the external ground tab is crimped right — and pliers get it wrong in both directions.
Under-crimp and the shield bond is intermittent; over-crimp and you've crushed the cable and deformed the plug. The Platinum Tools CT-360 (part 12360C) exists for exactly this step: a dedicated tool that performs a controlled, concentric 360-degree crimp on the external ground tab, giving the installer full feel and control over the closure.

Two cavities span outside diameters from 6.2 mm (0.245") up to 8.5 mm (0.335") — from slim Cat5e shielded up through the fat 10G-class jackets of Cat6A and Cat7 — and the deliberately non-ratcheted action lets you close to fit rather than to a fixed detent that may not match your cable. It works on most external ground tab connector designs across brands, including the shielded EZ-RJ45 external-ground plugs we carry.
