The Jonard WTL-32M ends that tradition for metal boxes: a wall box template and level designed specifically for cutting out single and double gang metal old work boxes, with built-in levels that guarantee the box — and therefore the plate — sits perfectly level every time.

The working details are what make it a keeper.
Wide protective rubber strips hold the template in place against the wall and prevent scuffing or scratching the finish while you trace. Triangular cutouts guide the knife around the ears of metal old work boxes — the fiddly corners that freehand tracing always gets wrong — and horizontal and vertical centerlines make alignment to your layout mark instant. Added screw holes let you tack the template to the wall for completely hands-free marking and cutting.

Sized for the standard metal old work families: it's compatible with Hubbell RACO 506 single and double gang switch boxes and similar metal retrofit boxes.
The 1-gang cutout measures 1.94" wide x 3.06" high; the 2-gang cutout is 3.75" x 3.06".
